In order for consumer-driven health plans to work most effectively, both the employer and the employees need timely access to reliable information.

For the employer, MedBen offers 24/7 access to claims and benefit information through the following online services:

FSA/HRA Account Tracking
As employers begin to bundle consumer-driven health products, like the Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) and debit card service, the need for finely-tuned account coordination has grown. MedBen’s online account management service provides FSA and/or HRA participants with improved account information. Employers will benefit from more seamless account coordination and comprehensive reports.

With a secured website, your employees can see at any given time during the year, what their balance in their FSA and/or HRA is and review a detailed listing of account deductions.

FSA-eligible Expenses
The MedBen Health Care Expenses Table provides MedBen FSA participants with a detailed list of qualified medical expenses under Section 213 of the Internal Revenue Code. “Primarily Medical” expenses are usually eligible for reimbursement under your Health FSA. “Dual Purpose“ expenses may qualify depending on the reason for your purchase.

FSA Tax Savings Calculator
The Tax Savings Calculator is a convenient way to estimate how much you can save in federal taxes if you set aside a portion of your salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for health expenses under a Cafeteria or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), child or adult daycare costs under a Dependent Care Assistance Plan (DCAP), or transit and parking fees under a Transportation Plan. The calculator will also show you whether you save more in federal taxes by electing DCAP benefits and paying for them with pre-tax salary reductions, or by claiming the Dependent Care Tax Credit. It's worth checking out the potential savings!

MedBen Access
MedBen Access gives you 24/7 access to real-time claims and benefits information. You also can change eligibility information, order an ID card and do a host of other things – anywhere there’s an Internet connection!

From the employer perspective, you can perform a number of basic management functions, including, but not limited to:

  • Reviewing change of information requests

  • Updating eligibility data

  • Ordering ID cards

  • Reviewing Plan Documents

  • Checking deductible and coinsurance accumulations

  • Monitoring real-time claims activity

  • Downloading forms

  • Reviewing provider information through website links

From the employee perspective, a number of basic benefits functions are available, including, but not limited to:

  • Requesting a change of information

  • Notifying of an eligibility change

  • Requesting an ID card

  • Reviewing coverage in the Plan Document

  • Checking individual deductible and coinsurance accumulations

  • Checking on a claim’s status

  • Downloading a form

  • Linking to provider websites for search and information  

RxEOB for Prescription Information
RxEOB helps plan administrators stay on top of prescription claims activity and cost trends, and allows employees to review personal prescription detail and benefit coverage, plus offers lower cost drug alternatives to save them out-of-pocket expense. The secure site provides up-to-date claims information using MedBen’s pharmacy benefits program, Pharmacy Data Management (PDM).

The RxEOB site allows plan administrators to generate a variety of prescription reports containing a wealth of useful information, such as drug cost and utilization by class, brand versus generic usage, and retail versus generic. Simply select a report and the range of months for review and RxEOB will instantly generate the requested report using your claims data.

Your employees also will find RxEOB very useful for controlling their prescription drug spending. Plan participants can compare prices of equivalent drugs, review benefits and perform a pharmacy search – and that’s just for starters!

MedBen Secure
With a simple the click of a mouse, you can have access to your most current standard reports via our password-protected website. Reports can be downloaded for permanent storage, or simply reviewed online. With this online reporting capability, HR professionals can review pertinent claims information from work, home or even when traveling.

MedBen Secure is an Internet server with an additional blanket of security to protect personal health information (PHI) to the fullest degree. PHI is posted to MedBen Secure over a secure line protected by Secured Socket Layering (SSL). This SSL protection is the Internet standard for the transmission of secure data, including the exchange of credit card and other financial information for retail purchases.

As an added precaution, your documents on MedBen Secure will be erased after 30 days. For more extended usage, you can download the reports directly to a secure area on your computer system, over our secure line.

For your convenience, clients automatically receive an e-mail notification when information has been placed on the server and is ready for you to review and/or download to your personal computer. Like all online tools, MedBen Secure has been incorporated into our main website at www.medben.com for your convenience.
