U.S. CapitolMedBen has prepared a downloadable summary of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (“FFCRA”) and how it affects self-funded health plans. The Act, which passed the Senate on March 18 and was signed into law by President Trump, defines employer responsibilities in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. The summary also includes MedBen’s recommendations on addressing these responsibilities.

MedBen is prepared to quickly amend your plan to meet the requirements of the FFCRA.

We encourage you to read the summary and contact us with any questions you have. The summary covers:

  • Mandatory coverage of COVID-19 diagnostic testing by health plans;
  • Coverage of COVID-19 diagnostic testing for high deductible health plans;
  • Mandatory employer paid leave provisions, including the Emergency Family and Medical Leave (“FMLA”) Expansion Act and Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act; and
  • Employer paid leave tax credits.

The summary is available for download at medben.com. MedBen Senior Vice President Caroline Fraker can be reached at 800-851-0907 or cfraker@medben.com to answer your questions.
