MedBen offers employers an expanded line of voluntary benefit services, which can be offered individually or to complement an existing plan.

The MedBen voluntary benefits line features offerings underwritten by some of the most respected names in the insurance industry.  However, every benefit we offer receives the same level of care customers have come to expect from MedBen.

From the initial enrollment and beyond, we provide businesses with personal and professional attention:

• A MedBen Marketing Service representative meets with the employees during enrollment to explain the benefits in detail and answer questions. For voluntary supplemental insurance, enrollment is conducted on a one-on-one basis to give members the chance to discuss policy options.
• After the initial bill is sent, the representative contacts the employer’s plan administrator to ensure that billing items are accurate and easy to understand.
• The representative assists with the enrollment of new group hires on a quarterly basis.
• The first member claim submitted goes directly through MedBen, regardless of whether or not the benefit is provided through another insurer. In this manner, we can offer assistance and input to the claimant and the employer.

Group Life Insurance
MedBen’s Group Life product, provided through The Hartford, is designed to meet a wide range of needs for both employer and employee.  Features of this product include an optional living benefit, which provides accelerated payments to members stricken with a terminal illness.  Basic supplemental insurance is also portable, so employees can keep their coverage if they change jobs.

Group Long-Term Disability
MedBen’s Long-Term Disability (LTD) product, offered through The Hartford, is a valuable source of financial security for employees and their families. The plan provides vocational rehabilitation services and individualized return-to-work assistance, encouraging employees to return to work at the earliest possibility.

Voluntary Supplemental Insurance
MedBen has partnered with Allstate to offer employer groups an assortment of Voluntary Supplemental Insurance products.  Employees can obtain polices that help fill gaps not covered by core company plans.  Supplemental products available include short-term disability, accident, cancer, specified disease, and a variety of universal and term life products.
