As MedBen has grown, our technology has grown with us. Coordinating our information systems is Rose McEntire, who oversees an expansive computer network. Today, our IBM AS/400 mainframe serves over 150 internal users, in additional to external personnel, clients and agents. MedBen is rare in the comprehensiveness of its Disaster Recovery System. Our offsite High Availability Center (HAC) contains a duplicate information systems platform for complete redundancy of all primary systems. This center is equipped with duplicate hardware and software, allowing real-time backup of claims and benefits information from our primary system. In addition to the complete HAC redundancy, our production system is backed up daily, weekly, and quarterly. Back-up tapes are kept at an offsite, fireproof storage facility. |
