A new analysis finds that nearly one-quarter of U.S. workers are at high risk from COVID-19 complications if infected. As the population gradually returns to the workplace, the need to follow the suggested guidelines becomes all the more important.
The CDC qualifies high-risk workers as those who are at least 65 years of age and/or have the following conditions:
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
- Asthma
- Body mass index above 40
- Functional limitation related to cancer
