At a recognition event on October 3, MedBen honored employees who are celebrating benchmark anniversaries with the company in 2025. We congratulate all this year’s celebrants and thank you for everything you do for our clients!
Three employees have achieved a particularly noteworthy benchmark this year: Andrea Corn, Janice Harris, and Becky McCune are all celebrating thirty-five years with MedBen.
Andrea Corn started at MedBen in 1990 as a claims examiner trainee, eventually working her way up the ranks to management positions in the claims and information systems departments. She currently serves as Manager of Benefits Configuration.
Asked what she enjoyed most about working at MedBen, Corn replied, “Besides the people, I like working for a company that has such integrity and values the employees as much as the clients. So many things have changed over 35 years, but the integrity of the company has remained constant and that makes it easy to feel good about the work you do.”
Janice Harris actually started with MedBen in 1987 but took a brief hiatus in 2020. Now back part-time as a MIS Operator, Harris is happy for the opportunity to continue working for a company that has seen big changes over the decades.
“I’m always finding things that I used to do are all different, from performing the daily data back-up to holding meetings on your computer,” Harris observed. “And when I returned to the office, my co-workers were kind and patient in helping me adapt to the changes. I think this shows the kind of employees that MedBen hires.”
Becky McCune joined MedBen as a Computer Programmer Trainee and now serves as Senior Technical Software Specialist. As we have expanded our technological capacity, she has played a key role in many major projects, such as developing the VisionPlus system, Stop Loss system, Benefit Config system and streamlining eligibility data loads and data extracts.
After 35 years, McCune says she still finds her job interesting and welcomes the new challenges that come with emerging technologies. “Above all, working with this team of great people keeps me motivated and proud of what we do,” she said.
