MedBen had a full house of employers and brokers in attendance at MedBen University’s (MBU) 25th annual Employer Roundtable on April 16 at the C. Arthur Morrow Conference Center in Newark, Ohio. Presented by MedBen’s team of industry experts, this year’s roundtable focused on strategies to help employers manage rising medical and pharmacy costs, navigate regulatory changes, and improve plan performance.

At this year’s event:

  • MedBen President, COO & CPO Caroline Fraker compared the Consolidated Appropriations Act with proposed PBM transparency rules and reviewed key regulatory and litigation risks for self-funded plans.
  • Vice President of Sales & Marketing Brian Fargus shared highlights from the new Client Report, including performance trends and strategies to manage costs and improve plan value.
  • Director of Sales Brooke Hupp explored how alternative reimbursement strategies, including direct-to-employer contracting and reference-based pricing, have provided our clients new options to lower health care spend.
  • Regional Sales Manager Camden Craig discussed worksite wellness strategies, including supportive environments, health education, and proactive care.
  • Director of Client Services Tracie Lesko outlined MedBen Access tools that provide real-time access to claims, benefits, and plan information.
  • Chairman & CEO Kurt Harden examined ways to manage pharmacy spend while addressing PBM rebate games and the power of direct-to-consumer drug advertising.
