Attending weekly group fitness classes may help to improve emotional well-being and stress levels, research finds. According to a study of medical students published in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association, group fitness classes led to a statistically significant decrease in stress and an increase in physical, mental, and emotional health as opposed to exercising alone or simply not at all.
