Going paperless with electronic explanation of benefits (EOBs) is a simple change that makes claims management faster and more convenient. While only about 10% of plan members currently receive electronic EOBs through MedBen Access, those who have made the switch benefit from much more than reduced paper use:
- Faster access to information. Instead of waiting for an EOB to arrive in the mail, members receive an email notification the same day their EOB is posted and ready to view or download.
- Anytime, anywhere availability. Electronic EOBs from the current and prior calendar years are stored securely in MedBen Access, making it easy to retrieve information whenever it’s needed.
- Simpler reimbursement submissions. Electronic EOBs can be quickly uploaded when submitting documentation for FSA or HRA reimbursements.
- More secure recordkeeping. Electronic delivery reduces the risk of lost or misplaced mail and keeps personal health information centralized in a secure, password-protected portal.
Members who prefer paper in the future can easily update their delivery preferences at any time within MedBen Access.
